The Burnin

A throwback post to the “Burnin” of my first Kamado Smoker.

I’ve always wanted to get more serious into cooking with fire, but a “serious” smoker just seemed a little to expensive and more time consuming. With my Electric smoker it was just a matter of setting the temp and coming back when it was done.

I never even used a thermometer on gas or with the electric. I was just cooking based on “time”. Boy, was that messed up.

On the inaugural burnin I simply fired it up to about 350 deg and let it burn. Kind of like seasoning cast-iron cookware or a dutch oven.

Let the Smoking begin!!!!
